Sunday, October 2, 1 PM -Blessing of the Animals
Pastor Betty will be doing a “Blessing of the Animals” on our grassy lot. All animals must be leashed or in a carrier and owners are responsible for any “clean-up” after your pets. If your pet cannot be brought to the service, a photo may be brought in his/her place and it will be blessed. Bring a blanket or folding chair to sit on. In case of inclement weather, the Blessing will be held in the gym.

Thursday, October 6, Light “The Church Night” for Breast Cancer
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We will light up our outside church walls in Pink to show support for those affected by this disease. Please plan a drive-by or stop for pictures.

Fun, fellowship, and food will follow.

Saturday, October 15, Prayer Vigil, 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
The church nave will be open to all members and community members who desire some quiet time to pray for their needs, their family needs, community needs, or world needs. Come any time between the hours of 4 PM – 8 PM.  Bibles and devotional booklets will be available for use during the vigil.

Choir Concert, Sunday, October 23, 2:30 PM
Join us in the nave for a concert of sacred music by composer, Joseph Martin.  Mr. Martin has been commissioned by St. Peter’s to compose an anthem for our 175th anniversary.The senior choir has performed many of his works throughout the year and decided to showcase his majestic compositions with an afternoon concert.

Joseph Martin is a native of North Caroline, earned his Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance at Furman University in Greenville, SC, and earned his Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at the University of Texas, Austin. While at Furman, he was the accompanist for the choral director who inspired Mr. Martin to compose music.

A free will offering will be taken and will be used to defray the cost of the commissioned anthem.

Light refreshments will follow.

Fall Pie Sale, Thursday, October 13 The Kitchen Ministry is taking orders for their Fall pie sale. Order deadline is Wednesday, October 5.  Apple Tarts, Rhubarb Custard Pie, and Shoo Fly Pies are available.  Five inch pies are $4.00 each, eight inch pies are $8.00 each.  See the Parish Visitor, Sunday Bulletin, or the cart by the kitchen for an order form.  Place your order in the container in the east narthex or on the cart by the kitchen.  Make checks payable to St. Peter’s Kitchen Ministry.

Trunk or Treat – Hosted by St. Peter’s Youth – Saturday, Oct. 22 , 2:00 – 3:30 PM – Members are asked to decorate their car trunks or truck beds for Halloween to hand out candy to trick or treaters, all youth through 6th grade. Sign-up sheet is available in the East Narthex. Donations of wrapped candy are also needed. Cars must be on the lot no later than 1:30 PM. For safety reasons, there will be no driving in the lot from 1:30 PM-3:30 PM. Games for the kids will be held on the grassy lot. We need adult volunteers to help with the games.

Tuesday, October 25, Needle Night
If you knit, crochet, embroider, etc, please join us the last Tuesday of the month for some crafting and socializing.
